Indiana women’s soccer continued its struggles in Big Ten play on Thursday, drawing 0-0 with Washington at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The Hoosiers are still looking for their first win of conference play.
After controlling the pace in the first half, the Hoosiers (3-4-3, 0-2-2 Big Ten) allowed the Huskies (5-1-5, 2-0-2) to hold most of the possession in the second stanza. Washington out-shot the Hoosiers 7-1 in the second half after finishing the first 45 minutes with a -3 shot differential.

Indiana had a 65th-minute penalty overturned after replay review, denying freshman Grace Hamm an opportunity to open the scoring. Just one minute later, Washington’s Anna Menti committed a foul in Indiana’s offensive half and, after another lengthy stoppage, was sent off with a red card.
Despite a one-player advantage in the final 24 minutes of action, Indiana could not break the deadlock. The Hoosiers salvaged a point in the 0-0 draw. Indiana concludes its homestand when it hosts Oregon at 1 p.m. Sunday and is set to visit Purdue at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3.
