After an exciting and eventful 2023-24 college basketball season, a champion has been crowned and, like 22-23, it’s the Connecticut Huskies. UConn defeated Purdue 75-60 in the title game, beating the Boilermakers by 15 for the Huskies’ 12th straight tournament win by 13+ points. This marks a two-year run that head coach Dan Hurley described as “up there in terms of the greatest two-year runs that a program maybe has ever had,” and for good reason, as the Huskies continued their dominance from a year ago, following it up in possibly an even more dominating fashion this time around.

After an already eventful NCAA Tournament, the grandest stage is yet to come, as the Final Four is only days away. The four programs — UConn, Alabama, NC State and Purdue — all come into the weekend with different storylines, but with one similar goal: to cut down the nets as national champions.

After an incredibly entertaining, exciting and, at times, surprising weekend, four teams are headed to Arizona to compete for the national championship.

The lack of upsets in the second round of the NCAA tournament may be a blessing in disguise, creating entertaining matchups between power conference teams.
(03/28/24 1:04pm)
This year’s first and second rounds treated fans to some incredible games. From No. 14 Oakland beating No. 3 Kentucky in a crazy first round upset, to No. 3 Creighton escaping No. 11 Oregon in double-overtime in the second round, last weekend was as great as March Madness gets. Despite this, the amount of upsets in the second round was historically low, as only one double-digit seed, No. 11 NC State, advanced to the Sweet Sixteen and that was by beating the aforementioned Oakland.

INDIANAPOLIS — An early exit will not be in the cards for Purdue this year, as they advance to the Sweet Sixteen with a 106-67 win over Utah State.

INDIANAPOLIS — Marquette was given a scare late, but the Golden Eagles weathered the storm and beat Colorado 81-77 in the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. This advances MU to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2013, something that Tyler Kolek said was “a long time coming” for his team. He and his teammates were resilient in this one, stopping several Buffalo runs late in the game by using great defense and limiting turnovers.

INDIANAPOLIS — The eight vs. nine game is always one to watch, and the game between No. 8 Utah State and No. 9 TCU on Friday in the Midwest Region round of 64 was no different. This matchup gave fans the opportunity to see how a Mountain West outright champion would fare against a middle of the pack Big 12 team, and for Mountain West fans it ended in a way they’d hoped. Utah State won 88-72, pulling away late with more physicality than TCU.

INDIANAPOLIS — Purdue can now breathe a sigh of relief, as it avoided a second straight loss to a 16 seed after beating Grambling 78-50 behind an all-around sensational performance from Zach Edey on Friday. The Boilermakers used the home Indianapolis crowd to go on an impressive second half run en route to a dominant victory over the Tigers.

INDIANAPOLIS — In what may be the most entertaining game of the NCAA Tournament so far, Colorado held on and bested Florida 102-100 on Friday. Colorado head coach Tad Boyle may have spoken for all basketball fans when he said, “can’t ask for much more out of a game in March than the one you just saw.” And to his point, this game was truly phenomenal, with great shooting throughout, an insane finish and everything in between.

INDIANAPOLIS — Fifteen-seed upsets are always fun, but this year, March Madness fans will not be treated to one.

This year’s champ week was one for the ages. From buzzer-beaters to great performances to the headline of the week — bid stealers — this week had everything. An incredibly surprising number of bid stealers (five) dominated the week and provided madness we usually get next week in the NCAA Tournament. These five teams: NC State, Oregon, New Mexico, Duquesne and UAB will all be playing in said tournament because of what they accomplished this week. All these teams provided great moments from what ended up being an eventful and memorable champ week, so let’s dive into what made this week so great.

Selection Sunday is here. In the last week of conference tournament play, high-profile teams were upset, like Tennessee and Duke. Other teams like St. John's and Pitt seemingly played their way into the NCAA tournament, only to have their at-large bids possibly lost to bid stealers that won their conference tournament.

The last regular-season weekend was certainly one to remember, as we got to see the historic and always heated UNC/Duke rivalry, plus other great conference games in Houston/Kansas and Kentucky/Tennessee. To top this all off, four conference championship games took place, giving four teams automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. These are always special, especially with the quality of championships that there were. This weekend, the one before Selection Sunday, is truly special every year, as the combination of regular-season finales with conference tournaments is unlike any other.

It’s Thursday, it’s March, which means another bracket projection! And this one happens with just 10 days until Selection Sunday.
(03/04/24 3:25pm)
The first Saturday of March provided one of the best days of the men's basketball season. Several teams showed they belong in the NCAA tournament, while others may have fallen out of at-large consideration altogether. Other teams secured conference titles, while others missed out on their league’s crown.
(03/01/24 8:57pm)
With just over one week left in the regular season, conference races are going down to the wire. Saturday is the first big day of games in March and there will be some amazing games as teams are desperate to win.
(02/29/24 5:51pm)
Another eventful week is in the books, which means more movement in the projected bracket! In the past week, we’ve seen several bubble teams lose, but others win big games. Some games have even featured two bubble teams, making them ultra-important in terms of the last few teams in.

Last weekend, a question that was already highly debated among coaches, media and fans was litigated once again after Duke's Kyle Filipowski suffered in injury when Wake Forest students stormed the court after a win over No. 8 Duke.
