After a draw at No. 22 Louisville on Monday, No. 6 Indiana men’s soccer was back at Bill Armstrong Stadium Friday night. The Hoosiers put their undefeated record on the line, as they faced the Cal Poly Mustangs in the first game of the 2026 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.
Oliver-Moller Jensen scored his fourth goal in five games just 61 seconds into the matchup, and the FAU transfer’s goal wound up being the game-winner, as the Hoosiers shut out the Mustangs 2-0. The victory improved Indiana’s season record to 4-0-1.
The No. 6 team in the country didn’t stop applying the pressure after the opening goal. In the 31st minute, Westin Carnevale scored his first goal as a Hoosier, as the Cornell transfer headed home an Alex Barger corner kick from the back post area.
It was quite the night for the Indiana transfer class. They contributed both goals, and the back line’s dominant night was fostered by Ohio State transfer Nick McHenry. Though his clears and blocks didn’t appear in the stat sheet, he was massive in helping Indiana achieve a shutout.
Overall, the Hoosier back line held the Mustangs to just four shots on goal for the match, and none of them were high-quality chances. Evansville transfer Michael Mroz saved all four shots with ease, as the Evansville transfer recorded his third clean sheet of 2026.
Though Indiana was held scoreless in the second half, their dynamic attack continued to create high-quality chances. Collins Oduro and Charlie Heuer in particular stood out as guys who created opportunities throughout the final 45 minutes.
With Big Ten play less than a week away, Indiana head coach Todd Yeagley and his squad are quickly rounding into form. An explosive attack, combined with a rock solid backline and a veteran keeper, could mean bad things for the rest of the conference.
No. 6 Indiana will play the second and final match of the 2026 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic on Monday night, as they host Denver. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. Eastern.
