In a must-win game, Indiana (16-11, 7-9 B1G) picked up its biggest win this season, defeating the No. 13 Purdue Boilermakers (19-9, 11-6 B1G), 73-58 in Bloomington. The victory avenged the Hoosiers’ narrow loss in West Lafayette on Jan. 31 and saw the team finally finish a full second half.

For the first time in Indiana men’s basketball history, the Hoosiers hosted the Trojans of Southern California in Assembly Hall. The now 13-3 Hoosiers returned from their victorious trip over Penn State in The Palestra with yet another Big Ten win, this time over Eric Musselman’s Trojans, 82-69. Oumar Ballo led all scorers with 23 points while Myles Rice contributed an all-around performance of 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

With 10:53 remaining in the second half, Trey Galloway received a handoff and a screen from Oumar Ballo and drove right. His scoop layup was too strong off the back side of the rim and fell softly into the outstretched arms of Ballo. Ballo patiently used his strength and touch to power through Eian Elmer for the jump hook.

A noticeable dullness held control over Assembly Hall for most of Indiana’s battle against Eastern Illinois on Sunday, possibly due to the energy that Bloomington expended on the football victory yesterday. This dullness subsided early into the second half when Malik Reneau and Mackenzie Mgbako went on a 14-0 run that started at the 17:49 mark.

On Wednesday the Indiana men’s and women’s basketball programs hosted their third annual institutional media day. Head coach Mike Woodson addressed the media at 3 p.m. followed by head coach Teri Moren. Players from both sides then addressed the media on the Cook Hall practice courts. This was the first opportunity for the media to be exposed to Woodson and Moren as well as both teams’ rosters since last season's conclusion in the spring.

For the second time in as many weeks, the Indianapolis Colts faced a two-possession deficit to an AFC North opponent, but this time they improved upon the previous week's outcome. The Colts beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-13 on Saturday to improve to 8-6 on the season. In Week 14 in Cincinnati, the Bengals jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Colts regained their footing and tied the game at 14-14, before ultimately losing 34-14.

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Indianapolis Colts at Paycor Stadium 34-14 on Sunday as the Colts scored just one offensive touchdown on nine possessions. The Colts have now dropped back to the seventh seed in the AFC playoff race, which includes a cluster of six teams with 7-6 records vying for the last two postseason slots.
