MINNEAPOLIS – With 10:34 left in Friday’s Big Ten quarterfinal, Nebraska’s Keisei Tominaga hit the stepback corner jumper for two. As the majority of the Target Center crowd of Cornhusker fans rose to their feet, Indiana guard Xavier Johnson walked down the court alongside the Nebraska bench, waving up his arms in shock.

Seventeen seconds remained in Sunday’s game and the score was even at 64 when Michigan State’s Malik Hall fouled Kel’el Ware in the paint. It was the right guy at the right time for the Spartans, as Ware had been 0-for-4 from the stripe before he headed to the line.

With around eight minutes left against Northwestern, the Hoosiers had the chance to cut the Wildcats's lead to single digits. Center Kel’el Ware went to the line to shoot two free throws. Neither shot found the net. Moments later, guard Anthony Leal drew a foul to put Indiana in the bonus. Leal went to the line for the one-and-one, but his first attempt went right off the rim, straight into Northwestern guard Brooks Barnhizer’s hands.

Auburn used a 17-4 run to take the lead against Indiana, which ultimately resulted in the Hoosiers (7-2) falling to the Tigers (6-2), 104-76, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon. Before Auburn's run, Indiana led 22-10 seven minutes into the first half.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Hoosiers headed out of the locker room for second half warmups, and Xavier Johnson was nowhere to be seen. Gabe Cupps started in his place, and Johnson would not see the court for the remainder of the game. Three minutes into the second half, Malik Reneau headed to the locker room, only to be seen back dominating on the court with 14 minutes left to go in the game.
